Jacqueline: Umm…

Deborah gets desperate enough to hit up Voohan for a bedtime story, since her parents are busy, big sister is snoozing and Bonehilda has lost all interest in anyone over the age of toddler.
Unfortunately, Voohan is more interested in that stunning new gate. Exhausted children pale in comparison to ironwork.

Deborah: Forget it, I’ll go put myself to bed. Again.

Matthew: How’s the art therapy coming along? Helping you get over that alien abduction thing?
Jacqueline: Grrr. It’s not art therapy.
Matthew: Hey, would you look at that. Did you know we had kids?
Jacqueline: :sigh:

Plans for a day trip fell through at the last minute, so that means Morley Legacy updates.
Emanuelle figured she’d strike while the iron was hot and knock off her social requirements for the week in one evening. Invite Sterling over for a date, then throw a party once the date was over. They ended up engaged before the first guest arrived.

Normally, one would think that this could turn the planned feast party into a wedding party (because what better way for a social butterfly to get to know people *and* stock her fridge?) but as usual, Sims have other ideas. Emanuelle only invited adults, but apparently somebody couldn’t get a sitter.

Random Kid: I am the king of this party!
Emanuelle: I don’t remember inviting you. Sterling, Do you know him? Sterling?
Sterling: Reading here. Shush.

Emanuelle heads back to the library to check out the online dating scene. (Mr. Married Mortimer had a profile, too, ahem.

We’ll assume he’s been too busy with the food stand to take it down.) Her best match, Sterling, just so happens to be sitting across from her at the next desk.
Emanuelle: Hello, big boy.
Sterling: Um, do I know you?
Emanuelle: You will, soon, and very, very well.
Sterling: :ulp:

Since a cat person without a cat is something nobody wants to see, meet Michonne. Genius, hyper, independent, slightly cynical about this Sim who’s taking care of her. In short, a cat.
On with the story. Emanuelle and Michonne move into Eltham’s Drift, ready to take on the world. Michonne explores their new home while Emanuelle gets down to business. Off to the library to check the job listings, and then to the festival grounds to check out the local talent.
She gets there exactly at closing, in time for food merchant Mortimer Goth to get off work.
Emanuelle: Hey.
Mortimer: :nothing:
Emanuelle: I’m new in town. I need a husband who wants four kids. Interested?
Mortimer: I’m already married.

Emanuelle: Seeing as how we’re eating snowcones on the same bench…
Mortimer: Still married.
Emanuelle: This is going to be harder than I thought.
